We have now started our sailing day tours out of Oban and what a start!
Great wind, a bit of spring sunshine and great company were the ingredients for our first sails in April. Had a lovely sail down the west side of Kerrera with two lovely ladies from Glasgow. Headed past the castle on the southern tip of Kerrera and dropped anchor at Puilladodhrain(pool of the otter) for lunch. Saw seals, porpoises and a sea eagle!
The yacht is based in Kerrera which is a delightful small island off Oban. Folks can either get the water taxi that is run by the marina for up to 12 passengers or we can sail over to Oban to pick up. The water taxi is fun and takes about 10 minutes-see our Instagram.
Oban harbour is a busy working port so there is always lots of busy-ness to watch and hear. It is where many ferries and cruise ships come and go to visit the stunningly beautiful west coast.
Our seafood sharing platters are very popular as a choice for lunch being freshly caught by local fishermen. We love the process of buying what is caught and available on each day and making it look appetising on our deck table for guests.
