Scottish Highland Tour

Many visitors who visit Scotland arrive in Edinburgh and usually are looking to experience the Scottish vibe and take in the mountains and castles and enjoy some whisky and increasingly these days, gin, from the different regions.

Without a doubt, one of the things that should be done is a trip to the Scottish highlands. Many have it all booked up in advance and want to have several days to discover the islands of Mull and Skye or even up to Shetland, Orkney and the Outer Hebrides. Others are happy to take a day trip to enhance their city trip to complete the Scottish culture.

There are many options but one of the best, in our opinion, is to go with  McIntosh Tours in a luxury Landrover Discovery Sport drawing on the local knowledge and skills of our guide Raymond McIntosh. Raymond is one of the Duke of Atholl’s private army and is convenor of the heavies event for Pitlochry Highland Games each year in September which is arguably one of the best in the circuit.

McIntosh Tours can organise whatever experience you want in the Scottish highlands, from a tour of the highlands focussing on the turbulent history or in visiting a well chosen group of distilleries to sample the smoke and peat flavours of the different stills to enjoying the breathtaking scenery of the mountains and glens. Our most popular trips are The Highlanders Tour, Off the Beaten Track and The Black Woods of Rannoch. We also cater for extended safari style tours with a trailer and picnic facilities.
